Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments North East, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has raised over £11,600 for its chosen charity of the year, the Tiny Lives Trust.
Over the past 12 months, staff at Barratt Developments North East’s head office have taken part in a variety of fundraising initiatives to raise vital funds for the Newcastle-based charity, Tiny Lives, including office-wide raffles and dress down days, as well as receiving generous donations at it’s annual Partner Awards ceremony.
Tiny Lives works to help care for premature and sick newborn babies and their families on the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The fund aims to provide the highest quality of care on an on-going basis and needs to raise at least £250,000 every year to support a range of facilities, staff and equipment.
Carl Sobolewski, Managing Director of Barratt Developments North East, commented: “We’re delighted to have been able to support Tiny Lives with our fundraising activities over the past 12 months. We’re proud to support such a worthwhile cause and contribute to the incredible work that they do. Our employees have been brilliant in taking part in charity activities and we hope that with their continued enthusiasm, we will be able to raise even more next year.”
Louise Carroll, Community and Events Fundraiser at Tiny Lives, commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have received Barratt Developments North East’s support over the past 12 months. The incredible amount raised will really benefit the charity and continue to help care for newborn babies on the RVi Neonatal Unit.”
The five star housebuilder, currently building at a range of developments across the region including its North Gosforth Park development in Newcastle, The Drive at Mount Oswald in Durham and Grey Towers Village in Nunthorpe, has announced that it will now be offering its support to Asthma UK for the next 12 months. The funds contributed will go towards supporting world-class research, campaigning for change and helping people with asthma to reduce their risk of a potentially life-threatening asthma attack.
"Were so proud to have been able to support The Tiny Lives Trust with our fundraising activities over the past 12 months. "
Carl Sobolewski, Managing Director
